These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Shoreditch Carpet Cleaners provides professional carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services within its service area in the United Kingdom. By booking or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

Client means the person, firm or company who requests or uses the services of Shoreditch Carpet Cleaners.

Company, we, us or our means Shoreditch Carpet Cleaners.

Services means carpet cleaning, rug cleaning, upholstery cleaning, stain treatment and any additional services provided by the Company as agreed with the Client.

Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.

Service Area means the geographical areas within which the Company offers its Services, as described on our marketing materials from time to time.

2. Booking Process

2.1 Bookings can be made by the Client through our online enquiry forms or other booking channels made available by the Company from time to time.

2.2 When making a booking, the Client must provide accurate and complete information, including the full address of the Premises, access details, property type, approximate room sizes or item quantities, and any specific cleaning concerns such as stains, odours, pets or previous treatments.

2.3 Any quotations given prior to attendance at the Premises are based on the information supplied by the Client. The Company reserves the right to amend the quotation, and any applicable charges, if on arrival the Premises or items to be cleaned differ from the description provided by the Client, or if additional work is required.

2.4 A booking is not confirmed until it has been accepted by the Company and a time and date have been agreed. The Company reserves the right to refuse any booking.

2.5 The Company will use reasonable efforts to arrive at the agreed time, but times are approximate and may be subject to change due to traffic, weather, or other circumstances beyond our control. If a delay is anticipated, we will use reasonable efforts to inform the Client.

3. Access to the Premises

3.1 The Client is responsible for providing safe and suitable access to the Premises at the agreed time. This includes, where applicable, arranging parking or visitor permits and providing accurate access instructions.

3.2 If suitable parking is not available and this results in additional costs such as parking fees or fines, these may be charged to the Client.

3.3 The Client must ensure that the Premises are in a condition that allows the Services to be carried out safely and efficiently, including the removal of fragile items and personal belongings from the areas to be cleaned.

3.4 If the operative is unable to gain access to the Premises, or if the Premises are not in a suitable condition for the Services to be carried out, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and a fee may be charged in accordance with clause 7.

4. Scope of Services

4.1 The Company will provide the Services with reasonable skill and care, using methods and equipment suitable for professional carpet and upholstery cleaning.

4.2 Unless specifically agreed in writing, the Services do not include the removal or lifting of heavy furniture, disconnection or reconnection of electrical or plumbing equipment, or cleaning of areas that are inaccessible or unsafe.

4.3 While the Company will use appropriate products and techniques to treat stains, odours and heavy soiling, the success of any treatment cannot be guaranteed and some stains or odours may be permanent.

4.4 The Client is responsible for informing the Company of the material type, age and any known issues relating to carpets, rugs, upholstery or other items to be cleaned, including previous cleaning treatments or colour instability.

4.5 The Client must inform the Company of any alarms, security systems or restrictions that may affect access or movement within the Premises.

5. Prices and Quotations

5.1 All prices are provided in pounds sterling and, unless expressly stated otherwise, are inclusive of standard cleaning materials and labour.

5.2 Quotations are based on the information provided by the Client and are valid for a limited period as stated by the Company at the time of quotation.

5.3 The Company reserves the right to adjust the price if on inspection the work required is materially different from that originally described, if areas are substantially larger than indicated, or if additional treatments are requested by the Client.

5.4 Any additional charges, such as congestion or parking charges, will be notified to the Client where reasonably possible and may be added to the final invoice.

6. Payments

6.1 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the Services.

6.2 Accepted payment methods will be communicated by the Company and may include card payments, bank transfer or other electronic payment options. Cash may be accepted at the Companys discretion.

6.3 For commercial Clients, payment terms may be agreed separately. If no specific terms are agreed, payment is due within 14 days of the date of the invoice.

6.4 The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at the statutory rate applicable in England and Wales from the due date until the date of actual payment, as well as to recover reasonable costs of debt collection.

6.5 The Client is not entitled to withhold payment or make any set-off against the Companys invoice unless agreed in writing by the Company.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

7.1 The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving the Company reasonable notice prior to the scheduled start time.

7.2 If the Client cancels or reschedules with less than 24 hours notice, the Company reserves the right to charge a late cancellation fee, which may be up to the full quoted price of the booking.

7.3 If the Client fails to provide access to the Premises at the agreed time, or the Premises are not in a suitable condition for the Services to be carried out, this may be treated as a late cancellation and a fee may be charged.

7.4 The Company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including staff illness, equipment failure, severe weather or access issues. In such cases, the Company will offer an alternative appointment time. The Company will not be liable for any loss arising from such cancellation or rescheduling.

8. Client Obligations

8.1 The Client must ensure that someone is present at the Premises at the start and end of the appointment to provide access, discuss any specific requirements and inspect the work upon completion where reasonably possible.

8.2 The Client must remove delicate or valuable items from the areas to be cleaned and secure any items that may be easily damaged. The Company will not be responsible for damage to items that should reasonably have been removed or protected by the Client.

8.3 The Client must inform the Company of any health and safety risks at the Premises, including loose floor coverings, electrical hazards, or the presence of any hazardous materials.

8.4 The Client must keep children and pets away from the work areas during the cleaning process and while carpets and upholstery remain damp, to ensure safety and prevent re-soiling.

9. Waste and Environmental Regulations

9.1 The Company will handle and dispose of waste generated by its Services in accordance with applicable UK laws and regulations, including regulations relating to water disposal, chemical handling and waste management.

9.2 The Client is responsible for the disposal of any general household or commercial waste that is not created by the Companys cleaning activities.

9.3 Where cleaning leads to the extraction of waste water or residues, the Company will use appropriate methods to dispose of such waste, either via the Clients facilities where suitable and permitted, or via approved disposal routes in compliance with regulatory requirements.

9.4 The Client must not request the Company to dispose of any hazardous or controlled waste on their behalf. If such waste is identified, the Company may refuse to proceed with the Services until the waste has been removed by an appropriately licensed contractor.

9.5 The Company aims to use products and processes that are compliant with relevant environmental standards and will follow manufacturer guidelines for the safe use and disposal of cleaning agents.

10. Liability and Insurance

10.1 The Company will exercise reasonable skill and care in providing the Services and will maintain appropriate insurance cover for public liability.

10.2 The Companys liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the provision of the Services shall, to the fullest extent permitted by law, be limited to the total price paid or payable by the Client for the specific booking in which the loss or damage occurred.

10.3 The Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of use, or loss of opportunity, arising from the provision of the Services.

10.4 The Company will not be responsible for pre-existing damage, wear or fading in carpets, rugs or upholstery, or for damage that arises from inherent defects in materials, faulty installation, or manufacturer limitations.

10.5 Slight changes in colour or texture resulting from the cleaning process do not constitute damage where reasonable care has been taken and appropriate methods have been used.

10.6 The Client must notify the Company of any alleged damage or service issue as soon as reasonably practicable and, in any event, within 48 hours of completion of the Services. The Company must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify any issue.

10.7 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes the Companys liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Guarantees and Complaints

11.1 The Company aims to provide a high standard of service. While results may vary depending on the condition and type of materials, we will use reasonable efforts to achieve the best possible outcome.

11.2 If the Client is not satisfied with any aspect of the Service, the Client must contact the Company promptly with full details so that the issue can be investigated.

11.3 If a justified complaint is received within a reasonable time, the Company may, at its discretion, re-clean the affected area or offer a partial refund, taking into account the nature of the issue and any limitations explained prior to or during the Service.

12. Health and Safety

12.1 The Company will carry out the Services in a manner that, so far as reasonably practicable, complies with relevant health and safety legislation.

12.2 Certain areas may remain damp following cleaning. The Client must take care to avoid slips, trips and falls and ensure that these areas are treated with caution until fully dry.

12.3 Ventilation of the Premises may be recommended following cleaning. The Client is responsible for ensuring adequate ventilation where advised.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

13.1 The Company will collect and use personal information provided by the Client for the purposes of handling enquiries, managing bookings, providing Services and processing payments.

13.2 The Company will handle personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and will take reasonable steps to protect such data from unauthorised access or disclosure.

13.3 The Client has the right to request access to the personal data held by the Company about them and to request correction of any inaccuracies.

14. Amendments to these Terms

14.1 The Company reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will take effect from the date they are published or otherwise communicated to the Client.

14.2 The Terms and Conditions applicable to a particular booking are those in force on the date the booking is confirmed, unless a change is required by law or regulatory authority.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

15.1 These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with the provision of the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

15.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

16. General Provisions

16.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16.2 No failure or delay by the Company in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall be considered a waiver of that right or remedy.

16.3 These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Client and the Company in relation to the Services and supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether written or oral.
